MyBudgetPlanner: your monthly budget, always up to date

MyBudgetPlanner is a future Android app concept for personal budgeting: it will help you plan the month's spending, record income and expenses, keep an eye on your account balances and know how much is left until the end of the month.

You enter the data yourself: the app does not connect to your bank accounts and never imports transactions automatically. Everything is stored in your phone's memory, with no account and no external servers.

Plan the month, don't just record it

That is the whole difference: instead of only tracking what you have already spent, you decide in advance where your money goes.

  • A clear budget: set limits for rent, groceries, bills and everything else.
  • Full picture: opening balance, income, planned spending and the remaining amount, updated in real time.
  • Recurring entries: fixed costs repeat automatically every month.
  • Leftover handling: close an entry early and reuse what you did not spend, without altering your history.
Billing cycles

Credit cards

Money you spend with a credit card leaves your account when the charge arrives, not at the moment of purchase. That is why each card has its statement-closing day and its charge day: the app assigns the expense to the month when the money will actually leave your account.

Billing cycles

Set the statement-closing day and the charge day for each card, once and for all.

A truthful balance

The app works out your balance and shows the expense in the month the money will actually leave your account.

Statements at a glance

Tell a closed statement from the current period instantly, and record the balance with a single tap.

Speed of use

Quick, thoughtful entry

Adding an expense takes a couple of seconds: if it is not fast, nobody does it.

Shortcuts

"Today" and "Yesterday" are one tap away, right where your thumb already is.

Useful details

Link refunds to the original expense, attach the location, or connect the expense to a Planner entry.

Bulk actions

Select several transactions at once to organise them together.

Accounts, transfers and savings

  • Everything in one place: cash, current accounts, cards, savings and investments.
  • No interference: transfers between your own accounts do not affect your total spending.
  • Flexibility: archive, hide or exclude individual accounts from the totals at any time.

How it works

  1. You set up your accounts: cash, current account, debit and credit cards, savings.
  2. You set the month's plan: opening balance, expected income and a spending limit for each entry.
  3. You record transactions as you go, choosing the account and the category.
  4. The app updates the maths and shows what you spent, what you had planned and what is left.

What it does not do

Better said upfront, to avoid the wrong expectations.

  • It does not connect to banks and never downloads transactions automatically.
  • It does not ask for online banking credentials or full card numbers.
  • It does not handle payments, transfers or real investments.
  • It does not provide financial advice.
