Privacy
How your data is handled when you visit the website or use the contact form.
1. Data controller
The data controller is Simone Marini. For questions about personal data or to exercise your rights, you can use the contact form, including for the rights described below. No Data Protection Officer (DPO) has been appointed, as the processing described here does not require one.
2. Browsing data and security
As with any website, the server may temporarily log technical data needed to deliver pages and protect the service: IP address, date and time, requested page, request outcome and basic browser and system information. This data is not used to profile visitors.
The legal basis is the controller’s legitimate interest in keeping the website available and secure. Log retention periods depend on the hosting provider’s configuration and are limited to what is necessary for security, diagnostics and legal obligations.
3. Data submitted through the form
The form collects your name, email address and message. Providing this information is optional, but without it your enquiry cannot be received and handled. The information is used only to reply and for any follow-up correspondence on the same subject; it is not used for newsletters or promotional activities.
Processing is necessary to respond to a request from the data subject and, where relevant, to take steps prior to entering into a contract. In other cases, it is based on the legitimate interest in handling incoming communications. Messages are kept for as long as the conversation requires and, normally, no longer than 12 months after it ends, unless legal obligations or the need to protect a legal right require otherwise.
Please avoid including sensitive data or unnecessary information in your message. The form’s checkbox confirms that you have read this notice: it is not consent to promotional use.
4. Cookies and local storage
The website sets no cookies, whether technical or profiling cookies, and includes no analytics, advertising, social plug-ins or other tracking tools. As there are no tools requiring consent, no cookie banner is displayed.
| Tool | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
localStorage: ms-theme |
Preference stored only in your browser when you choose a light or dark theme. | Until you clear the website’s data |
You can delete the preference in your browser settings; without it, the website follows your system theme. This information stays on your device and is not sent to the server. Your language is not stored either: the English version, when selected, is indicated directly in the page address using the parameter lang.
The CAPTCHA is an addition question generated by the server and uses no cookies, sessions or external services. The form includes a signed technical token containing a timestamp and a random value. It expires after 30 minutes and is returned to the same server when you submit the form. The token contains no name, email address, message or correct answer and is not stored in a database.
5. Recipients and transfers
Website hosting and email are provided by OVHcloud. When processing hosted data and messages to provide these services, OVHcloud acts as a processor on the controller’s instructions. It may use its own subprocessors within the limits of the data processing agreement. The controller does not sell data or disclose it for advertising purposes.
The OVHcloud services chosen for the website and email are intended for European infrastructure. OVHcloud states that, when a storage region in the European Union is selected, it does not process data outside the EU or countries recognised as adequate by the European Commission. For information about safeguards, subprocessors and the provider’s processing, see the OVHcloud GDPR documentation.
6. Your rights
Where applicable under Articles 15–22 of the GDPR, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction or portability, or object to processing. You may also lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority.
No automated decision-making or profiling takes place. To submit a request about your data, you can use the contact form; it may be necessary to verify the requester’s identity.
7. App privacy notices
For CozyReader, see the privacy notice in Italian and English: local library and covers, CSV import/export, retention and deletion.
For MyCarCost, a dedicated privacy notice describes local storage, Android backup, file imports and exports, and data deletion.
Apps may process data and use services differently from this website. Each app’s privacy notice is published on its page before distribution. The MyBudgetPlanner privacy policy is already available, but must be checked again against the version actually released.
