I’ve started a new project: CozyReader, an Android app for keeping a journal of books, comics and manga. I’d like to open my library and find a past read along with its date, a rating or a few lines I wrote when I finished it.
One title, many reads
A standalone book and a manga series have different needs. In CozyReader, every work has its own page, with a cover, author, publisher and notes. Individual reading entries and any volumes are linked to that page, without losing track of rereads.
For series, you can enter the expected number of volumes if you know it, and record when you finish them. The statistics keep these things separate too: ten volumes don’t become ten series, and rereading a volume counts as another read.
A personal library
I’m working on the cover grid, detail pages and filters to help you find past reads. Your library stays on your phone, with no account needed. Covers are saved in the app’s private storage, and you can export a CSV copy of your library to keep or open in Excel.
CozyReader is still in development. The project page describes the current version’s features and links to the privacy policy. If you read manga or follow several series at once, I’d love to hear how you keep track of the volumes.
